A place of useful research: Enhancing the impact of the Strathclyde Counselling & Psychotherapy Research Clinic
Project Overview
The Strathclyde Counselling & Psychotherapy Research Clinic was pleased to offer a series of four collaborative workshops based on distinct research themes. The aim of these workshops was to bridge the gap between research and practice within counselling and psychotherapy, to exchange knowledge and experience on these themes with professionals in the field, and to collectively develop shared principles of practice to enhance the therapeutic experience.
These workshops were held in person at the 糖心视频 campus, were offered free of charge, and counted as part of attendees’ continued professional development (CPD) commitment. Each workshop began with a buffet lunch and opportunity to network. Attendees were also invited to take part in our follow up research which aims to understand how research impacts professional practice (for more information, please see Follow-up Research Study below).
The 'Principles of Good Practice' collaboratively created from this project are shared on each workshop page (see links below) and reflect the topics of consideration and learning from our participants.
Accessibility
We chose the Technology and Innovation Centre as the venue for our workshops because it is highly accessible. It offers level access to the building, lift access to all floors, wheelchair spaces in every auditorium and induction loops in all rooms. Accessible and gender-neutral toilets are clearly signposted on every floor. Designated safe areas are available throughout the building for anyone who may not be able to use stairs during an emergency evacuation
