The main aims of my research so far have focused on understanding innovative behaviours in organisations and the factors which influence these behaviours.聽 My research interests are varied due to the wide range of factors which can influence innovative behaviours such as strategy, performance measurement, knowledge management, creativity but the focus always come back to how do these subjects influence an organisation鈥檚 ability to innovate.

More recently my research has focused on disability inclusion and the role of technology in affording (or not) inclusion of disabled people into work. Disabled people are amongst the most marginalised groups in society, and my research aims to explore the social structures that impact disabled people and what can be done to enact change.

In general, my research adopts a participative and engaged approaches using qualitative methods to get to the heart of the issue under investigation. I work with research participants in a collaborative way so that the research is with participants rather than 'on' participants.聽 聽

Drawing on my research and knowledge exchange work, I continually seek to make my teaching relevant to the managers of the future. I try to bring in fun aspects to classes including the use of games and new technology to support the learning process.聽 I also supervise a wide range of dissertation students including UG, PG, MBA and executive MBA.聽

The Personal and Professional Leadership Development (PPLD) initiative will provide coaching, mentoring, and workshops to MBA students and alumni throughout the 24/25 academic year. This project aims to evaluate PPLD's impact on participants' leadership development.

Success will be measured on both individual and institutional levels. Individually, success will be reflected in measurable advancements in leadership skills, self-awareness, and career-related progress, such as securing internships and job offers. Programme impact will also be gauged by increased student engagement, positive feedback, and improved retention, reflecting an enriched student experience.

At the institutional level, PPLD aligns with the university鈥檚 goals of fostering career readiness, providing high-quality student support, and promoting holistic development. Integrated with professional modules like SLD, the programme aims to create a diverse, inclusive environment that supports all students' needs, ultimately contributing to their academic, professional, and personal growth.
