Personal statement

I'm a teaching associate in the Strathclyde Institute for Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, based at the 糖心视频. I have an honours degree in Chemistry and a PhD in biological analysis using Raman Optic activity from the University of Glasgow, and an MSc in Pharmaceutical Analysis from Strathclyde University. After a 20 year research career in industry and academia (with most of that time based at the Cancer Research UK Formulation Unit in SIPBS), my family circumstances changed and I moved into a role as a carer for members of my family. I took up my current part-time position a few months later, and have refocused my career on teaching and pedagogical/andragogical research. I have authored papers and presented my work on both sides of my career. I blog (which can be found at drsjford.wordpress.com) and if you search youtube hard enough you can watch me having my headset alight by Tom Pringle (aka Brainiac's Dr Bunhead). I enjoy playing my bagpipes and I'm a bit of a data geek. I am particularly pleased to have a Erdos-Bacon number of 10!
