This Rapid Review II follow-up report firstly outlines developments in the current policy context for GBV prevention in the Scottish Higher Education context; secondly it presents the findings from data obtained from interviews with key stakeholders across the Scottish HE sector undertaken during the period October 2017 to January 2018.

Equally Safe in Higher Education Toolkit

New practical guidance for universities to tackle gender-based violence on campus has been published. Guidance and training for staff, better data collection and well-publicised support information for students are some of the recommendations set out in the toolkit, which has been produced by the ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ and funded by the Scottish Government.

Strathclyde launches online course to tackle violence against women around the world

The ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ has launched a new online learning course aimed at tackling the global issue of violence against women. The free MOOC, entitled ‘Understanding Violence Against Women: Myths and Realities’, aims to increase awareness of the subject and look at ways to address it.

Inside Outside Exhibition 22 June 2017

This multi-media exhibition of art, photography, video and audio installations provides a rare insight into the hidden world of women who have been involved in street prostitution, escorting, brothels and saunas. Powerful and hard-hitting, the exhibition is based on and features the voices and stories of women involved in prostitution in Scotland . The exhibition is free and open to the public. Please note that some of the content in the exhibition deals with sexual violence, abuse and exploitation which some people might find upsetting.

Understanding forced marriage in Scotland' published

Understanding forced marriage in Scotland' sets out a series of recommendations arising from research carried out to better understand forced marriage in Scotland. ESHE's Research Lead Dr Melanie McCarry contributes to this collaboration between the University of Central Lancashire and Scottish Women’s Aid, Shakti, Women’s Aid (Edinburgh) and Hemat Gryffe Women’s Aid (Glasgow).
