We are part of the EPSRC Transformative Healthcare Technologies 2.0 programme on 鈥淩eal-time digital twin assisted surgery鈥 (DTAS). This project aims to develop and integrate real-time digital twin technology into surgical procedures, with the goal of transforming personalised interventions, particularly for cancer treatment.
The project is being led by Professor Will Shu from the 糖心视频鈥檚 Biomedical Engineering Department (BME), jointly with:
- Professor Xichun Luo (DEME, Strathclyde)
- Dr. Asimina Kazakidi (BME, Strathclyde)
- Professor Patricia Connolly (BME, Strathclyde)
Along with other university partners including:
- Professor Grant Stewart (Surgery, Cambridge)
- Professor Sotirios Tsaftaris (Engineering, Edinburgh) and
- Professor Kevin O'Neill (Neurosurgery, ICL)
The team members bring a diverse range of expertise and experience to the project, spanning several disciplines, including biomedical engineering, design, manufacture, engineering, surgery, artificial intelligence, and medical diagnostics.
